Amaravati, March 02, 2026: Representatives from student unions, alongside trade unions, Dalit associations, and Left parties, held a protest near the Gandhi statue by GVMC in Visakhapatnam.

They demanded immediate steps from the Chief Minister to address reported disturbances at Andhra University, including claims that certain groups are promoting communal divisions, leading to attacks on students, teachers, and staff.

The appeal follows weeks of campus unrest, where rival student factions have clashed and traded accusations. University authorities recently formed a peace committee to mediate between involved groups and enforce calm, directing no further protests until a resolution.

Protesters seek stronger intervention to prevent escalation and protect the academic environment.
