Amaravati, March 02, 2026: Andhra Pradesh has launched a dedicated control room and 24/7 helpline to support Telugu citizens stranded in Gulf countries amid escalating West Asia tensions and temporary airport closures.

The state government set up the central control room at AP Bhavan in New Delhi, with a round-the-clock helpline (9871999430) for immediate assistance.

NRI Empowerment and Relations Minister Kondapalli Srinivas announced the measure, noting that transit disruptions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain have left passengers stuck.

Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT) coordinators in the region are providing help, including accommodation and food, with over 10 lakh Telugus estimated to live in the Gulf about 1 lakh registered with APNRT.

Assistance has reached stranded individuals in Bahrain and Dubai so far, while coordination continues with the Ministry of External Affairs and civil aviation authorities. Airports may reopen soon, allowing safer onward travel.
