Amaravati, March 01, 2026: YSRCP State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced plans to turn the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project into a widespread people's movement.

He held a teleconference with leaders from Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and Nellore districts, noting strong public support for preparatory efforts so far.

The project, launched during the previous YSRCP government, aims to lift water from the Srisailam reservoir to secure irrigation and drinking water for drought-hit Rayalaseema and nearby areas.

Works remain stalled due to environmental concerns and interstate water disputes.

YSRCP leaders plan a key meeting in Kadapa on Sunday to outline next steps, building on recent rallies and calls for resumption amid accusations of neglect by the current coalition government.
