Vijayawada, March 01, 2026: A city-based NGO, Vibrants of Kalam, led a symbolic rally along Prakasam Barrage last weekend to combat drug abuse among young people while fostering national pride.
Dubbed ‘Dandi March 2.0’ in homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s historic 1930 salt march, the event featured participants carrying a 1.2-km-long national flag to send a powerful visual message of unity and resistance.
Founder Vijay Kalam stressed that drug addiction damages not just individuals but entire families and communities. The group plans to expand the effort statewide, targeting rallies in 100 Assembly constituencies to mobilise hundreds of youth per location.
