Amaravati, February 28, 2026: Food safety officials conducted thorough checks across SPSR Nellore district's milk ecosystem, visiting collection points, bulk chilling centres, and product manufacturing units in Buchireddypalem and Sangam mandals.

Assistant Food Controller G. Venkateswara Rao led the effort, responding to public complaints about operators adding substances to artificially increase thickness and fat content.

Teams gathered samples of milk along with curd, ghee, and paneer from dairies in Nellore city neighbourhoods such as Magunta Layout, Balaji Nagar, Dargamitta, and B.V. Nagar.

These samples head to laboratories for detailed analysis. Authorities stress that confirmed violations, including adulteration, can result in fines up to ₹5 lakh or legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
