Amaravati, February 27, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta launched Operation Chinnari Thalli, a special statewide initiative to curb sexual crimes against children. Spearheaded by the Women and Child Safety Wing, the program was inaugurated with a poster release at the DGP office in Mangalagiri.

It carries the tagline “Safe Childhood–Sustainable Development” and targets prevention through action against habitual offenders, drug addicts, and suspicious individuals.

Key steps include identifying vulnerable spots, sensitizing mothers of minor girls, creating Sexual Offenders Sheets for tracking past cases, running good touch-bad touch awareness in schools and anganwadis, boosting security in crime-prone areas, ensuring zero pendency in POCSO arrests, completing investigations promptly with charge sheets filed in 60 days, and monitoring fast-track trials to raise convictions.

A dedicated Women and Child Safety Office in Tadepalli, led by an IG-rank officer, will oversee implementation, with district heads directed to submit action plans quickly.
