Amaravati, February 27, 2026: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed strict action and accountability following a diarrhoea outbreak in Srikakulam district linked to contaminated water and a deadly adulterated milk incident in Rajahmundry.

In Srikakulam, authorities reported 129 diarrhoea cases, with 107 patients under treatment and others discharged after care. Response teams halted pipeline supply, supplied tanker water, repaired leaks, and launched sanitation drives with medical camps.

In Rajahmundry, East Godavari district, adulterated milk consumption led to five deaths, 15 hospitalizations including critical cases with acute renal failure, and monitoring of nearly 1,000 people. The milk supplier faces arrest, and ₹10 lakh compensation applies to each deceased family.
