Amaravati, February 27, 2026: A Guntur mobile court adjourned its hearing on a police plea for a non-bailable warrant against Bihar cadre IPS officer M Sunil Kumar Naik, accused in the alleged custodial torture of Deputy Assembly Speaker K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.

The Nagarampalem police sought the NBW after Naik reportedly ignored multiple summons to appear for questioning in the 2024 case tied to events in 2021.

Naik, who served on deputation as DIG in Andhra Pradesh's CID during the previous regime, is named as accused number 7.

The special public prosecutor argued Naik has evaded cooperation, while the court heard both sides before postponing proceedings to Friday and directing more case details from the prosecution.
