Amaravati, February 27, 2026: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Andhra Pradesh government will soon release a comprehensive blueprint to finish all pending irrigation projects, aiming to deliver water security to every acre of farmland.
The pledge came during assembly discussions on Water Resources Department grants.
Naidu highlighted key efforts like completing the first phase of the long-delayed Veligonda project by July to benefit Prakasam and Markapuram areas, advancing Polavaram the state's "lifeline" before the next Godavari Pushkarams, and expediting the Chintalapudi lift scheme for upland Krishna and Eluru districts.
He noted recent investments, including Rs 20,000 crore in the past 20 months, plus strong progress in micro-irrigation covering 1.6 million hectares and rising groundwater levels.
