Amaravati, February 25, 2026: Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya inspected an Anna Canteen at SVIMS Circle today and directly appealed to diners to prevent food waste.

She advised people to serve themselves only what they can finish, rather than throw away leftovers, and warned against taking multiple tokens for extra helpings after receiving public complaints.

The commissioner also checked meal quality by speaking with visitors, stressed hygiene to kitchen staff, and pushed for tasty, well-prepared food. Anna Canteens, revived and expanded under the state government, offer subsidised meals often at ₹5 each to support daily wage earners, students, and vulnerable groups across urban and growing rural areas.
