Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the move, highlighting the growing alliance between the two nations.
Modi's departure statement emphasized the "robust and multifaceted strategic partnership" that has expanded in areas like defense, security, innovation, agriculture, water management, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
The itinerary includes bilateral talks with Netanyahu, a possible meeting with President Isaac Herzog, an innovation event, a visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, and Modi's landmark address to the Knesset a symbol of strong democratic bonds.
Discussions are expected to focus on advancing cooperation in AI, defense deals, and projects like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). This comes as India balances relations in West Asia, with no planned engagement on Palestinian issues during the trip.
