Amaravati, February 25, 2026: Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad alleged a nearly Rs 6,000 crore scam in house site distribution under the previous YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The minister told the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly that the earlier "Housing for All" scheme saw widespread irregularities.

Officials allotted plots on unsuitable land including flood-prone zones, burial grounds, and distant sites while buying private land at inflated prices.

He noted that out of about 22 lakh sanctioned plots, conveyance deeds remained pending for around 7 lakh, nearly 2.5 lakh beneficiaries rejected sites, and 43,948 ineligible allottees were identified. Inquiries continue to uncover more misuse.
