Vijayawada, February 25, 2026: The second edition of the Andhra Pradesh Legislators Sports Meet kicked off at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium in Vijayawada on February 24.
Organised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, the three-day competition known as 'Aatavidupu' brings together MLAs and MLCs from across parties in 14 events, including tug-of-war, volleyball, kabaddi, and athletics across age groups.
Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu inaugurated the meet and joined a tug-of-war pull, while Deputy Speaker K. Raghurama Krishna Raju led the winning opposing team in a quick single-pull victory.
Participants, dressed in purple t-shirts, competed in a friendly spirit as crowds cheered. Winners included Parvathipuram MLA B. Vijay Chandra in men's 100m under-50 and TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao in the 50+ category.
