Amaravati, February 25, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has summoned Chief Secretary K Vijayanand to appear in person on Wednesday over alleged non-compliance with its orders in a Group-I recruitment controversy.
A Division Bench initiated suo motu contempt proceedings after the state failed to transfer qualified Group-I Main candidates now in key government roles to non-sensitive posts and submit a compliance report.
The court had directed these steps earlier this month amid probes into irregularities in answer script evaluation, including forming a Special Investigation Team. It expressed strong displeasure but gave one final chance before escalating action, ordering personal appearance and explanation.
