Amaravati, February 26, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has approved grants totalling nearly ₹41,590 crore for key departments, with a major focus on debt servicing, employee pensions, and retirement benefits.
The allocations cover finance, planning, commercial taxes, and legislative affairs, including fiscal administration, surveys, statistics, tax collection, and State Legislature expenses.
An additional ₹863 crore was cleared for the Governor, Council of Ministers, general administration, and elections.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav highlighted efforts to tackle a legacy debt burden, noting recent clearance of ₹24,811 crore in liabilities and ₹37,000 crore in pending works bills. He pointed to a drop in average interest rates from 12.5% to 9.1%, revival of 85 Centrally sponsored schemes with ₹18,750 crore in state contributions.
