Visakhapatnam, February 25, 2026: Andhra Pradesh is set to establish five circular economy parks and 107 dedicated waste processing centres across the state.
These facilities will focus on scientific sorting of dry waste including plastics, glass, cardboard, and e-waste, to feed recycling industries and promote a "wealth from waste" model.
The initiative, revealed at a CII-organised conference on circular economy and green companies, aligns with the state's pioneering Circular Economy and Waste Recycling Policy under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
It ties into the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, prioritising clean environments for better public health. Additional steps include poultry waste processing plants in Visakhapatnam and Guntur (each handling 100 tonnes daily), a real-time digital dashboard for recyclable waste data, and a Centre of Excellence in Vijayawada for research, training, and awareness.
Officials highlight potential national economic gains, with circular practices possibly creating millions of jobs and substantial value by mid-century.
