Amaravati, February 25, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has approved the creation of a standalone Science, Technology and Innovation Department.
This move aims to boost research, startups, and cutting-edge advancements across the state in a focused way.
The existing Environment, Forest, Science and Technology Department will now be renamed Environment and Forest Department to reflect the split. A domain expert from the field will head the new department as secretary.
