Amaravati, February 24, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India has greenlit projects totaling Rs 8,925 crore to upgrade and expand national highways in Andhra Pradesh.

These efforts focus on boosting connectivity to neighboring states through enhanced road infrastructure, including restricted access designs for safety and efficiency.

Key stretches feature limited entry and exit points, such as in the Chittoor region (Chittoor, Gangadhara Nellore, Srirangarajapuram, and Nagari), to reduce congestion and improve travel times.

The investments align with the state's broader push to complete ongoing NH works worth over Rs 1.4 lakh crore by 2027-2029, supporting industrial growth, port access, and logistics.
