Rajamahendravaram, February 24: Four people died and 15 remain hospitalised in Rajamahendravaram after consuming suspected adulterated milk. Lab results on samples are due this week as authorities probe ethylene glycol contamination.

Health officials report no urea in samples but point to possible ethylene glycol a toxic coolant, from a chilling unit leak as the cause, based on police findings and initial tests.

Blood and milk samples from affected households head to labs in Hyderabad and elsewhere. A statewide inspection of milk traders and units starts immediately to curb risks.
