Newsroom, February 24, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the complete 82-km Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) on February 22, enabling full commercial operations.

The next day, the Namo Bharat trains carried more than 1 lakh passengers, the highest single-day figure yet amid enthusiastic crowds chanting patriotic slogans on board.

Operated by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation, the corridor cuts travel time between Delhi and Meerut to about 55 minutes at speeds up to 180 kmph, linking key stations through Ghaziabad and Modinagar.
