Newsroom, February 23, 2026: A recent economic impact study shows Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) contributed around ₹68,000 crore in gross value added to Telangana during 2024–25 through direct operations, supply chains, and employee spending.
Including the nearby GMR Aerocity, the total rises to ₹75,000 crore over 5% of the state's GVA, and supports nearly 4.1 lakh jobs.
The airport handled 29.5 million passengers last fiscal year, linking to 72 domestic and 24 international destinations. It strengthens sectors like pharmaceuticals and tech through strong cargo and export links. Projections point to ₹2.13 lakh crore in GVA and 9.8 lakh jobs by 2037–38 as traffic grows.
