Amaravati, February 23, 2026: Authorities in Andhra Pradesh confirmed four deaths from anuria a serious condition where kidneys stop producing urine, in Rajamahendravaram's Chowdeswari Nagar and Swaroop Nagar areas.

All victims, aged between 72 and 85, showed symptoms like vomiting, abdominal pain, and acute kidney failure after drinking milk from the same local dairy in Korukonda mandal.

Twelve more people remain hospitalized, some in critical condition on ventilators, with samples sent to labs in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam for toxin analysis.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced ₹10 lakh ex-gratia to each affected family during a Legislative Assembly session.

He ordered swift medical care, a probe into the adulteration, and warned of firm action against those prioritizing profit over public health. Police detained the dairy operator for questioning, and health teams continue monitoring residents who consumed the supply.
