Amaravati, February 23, 2026: AP Congress vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji has called for the swift arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party state president P.V.N. Madhav.

Shivaji alleges Madhav incited violence targeting the Congress headquarters in Vijayawada, describing the incident as part of a broader shift toward "targeted hooliganism" under the TDP-led NDA government in the state.

The demand comes against a backdrop of opposition complaints about suppression. Shivaji highlighted attacks on Congress offices and workers, linking them to a pattern of curbing dissent.

He drew parallels to national events, noting restrictions faced by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during the recent Budget session in Parliament, where key issues were allegedly sidelined through procedural tactics.
