Amaravati, February 23, 2026: Bharata Chaitanya Yuvajana Party (BCYP) president Bode Ramachandra Yadav issued a strong ultimatum to the Andhra Pradesh government near Mangalagiri in Guntur district.

Speaking at a public gathering on February 22, he accused successive administrations of ignoring Backward Classes (BCs), who form about 55% of the state's population yet hold only 34 of 175 Assembly seats.

Yadav outlined five core demands: immediate enactment of a BC Protection Act, allocation of 1,000 acres in Amaravati for BC families, a comprehensive caste census, 44% reservation in education, jobs, local bodies, and legislatures proportional to population, and increased funding for BC corporations.

He also called for a high-level probe into drug issues in educational institutions affecting BC youth and attacks on BC communities. He warned of an indefinite fast starting April 11 if unmet.
