Amaravati, February 24, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly will hold a four-hour debate today on the alleged supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for preparing laddu prasadam at the Lord Venkateswara temple.

The discussion, set from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. after Question Hour, follows a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

It stems from claims that substandard ghee blended with vegetable oils and synthetic compounds rather than pure dairy was supplied during 2019-2024 under the previous administration.

A Supreme Court-monitored SIT probe confirmed irregularities and corruption in procurement, though tests ruled out animal fat. The current government highlights administrative lapses and plans stricter TTD regulations, including a new law inspired by Golden Temple protections to allow criminal action against violators.
