Amaravati, February 22, 2026: Youth Congress members staged a dramatic shirtless demonstration at the AI Impact Summit in Delhi's Bharat Mandapam on February 20, raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and disrupting the event.

The protest, which led to detentions and legal action, drew widespread backlash for turning a global platform focused on India's AI advancements into a political spectacle.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, speaking at a programme in Vinukonda, expressed deep disappointment.

He highlighted that with many countries racing ahead in technology, India must project seriousness and progress in the knowledge economy.

Such acts, he said, hurt national interest and send the wrong message internationally. Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh echoed the sentiment on social media, calling the disruption shocking and urging focus on innovation over petty politics. Even opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the action as shameful.
