Visakhapatnam, February 21, 2026: The National Investigation Agency has submitted a supplementary chargesheet to the NIA Special Court in Visakhapatnam, adding two individuals to the 2025 Vizianagaram ISIS-linked terror conspiracy case.

Arif Hussain, also known as Abu Talib (originally from Bihar and arrested last August at Delhi airport while trying to flee), faces charges of conspiring to supply weapons, illegally transporting arms across borders, and spreading extremist ideology online.

Imran Akram, who remains at large, is accused of channelling the case traces back to Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh, where initial arrests targeted local resident Siraz Ur Rahiman and Hyderabad's Syed Sameer in May 2025 for alleged ISIS-inspired plots.

NIA took over the investigation and filed its first chargesheet in November 2025. Authorities continue probing deeper networks, highlighting risks of cross-border arms flows and online radicalisation in the region. funds to earlier suspects for buying explosive materials.
