Visakhapatnam, February 21, 2026: CA Prasanna Kumar D, a Visakhapatnam-based chartered accountant, has assumed office as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the 2026-27 term.
Born in Vizag in 1960 and qualified since 1984, he began his practice in the city and rose through key roles, including Chairman of the ICAI Vizag branch (2001-02, earning top regional and national honours), Chairman of the Southern India Regional Council (2013-14), and Vice President (2025-26).
He becomes the first leader from Andhra Pradesh to head the world's largest accounting institute.
