Amaravati, February 21, 2026: Andhra Pradesh's Legislative Council witnessed sharp disruptions as opposition YSRCP members protested over the ongoing controversy surrounding ghee supplies to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the sacred laddu prasadam.

The uproar escalated when YSRCP MLCs displayed photographs of Lord Venkateswara during their demonstration, prompting accusations from the ruling coalition that the act disrespected devotees' sentiments, especially since some members allegedly remained in footwear.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav condemned the move as undignified and an insult to Hindu traditions, demanding an apology. The chairman rejected adjournment motions seeking debate on alleged links between a Maharashtra-based dairy supplier and political interests, leading to slogan-shouting and a brief adjournment of proceedings.
