Amaravati, February 21, 2026: Police in Andhra Pradesh's Nallamala region raided Ahobilam temple town early Saturday, seizing over 280 bottles of illegally stocked liquor and arresting eight people in a cordon-and-search operation.
Authorities, led by Allagadda DSP K. Pramod, recovered 247 liquor bottles and 37 beer bottles during checks on vehicles and homes linked to suspected rowdy elements.
The drive targeted illicit sales and related crimes around the sacred pilgrimage site, where such activities disrupt public order and religious visitors. Officials stressed zero tolerance for illegal liquor trade in sensitive areas.
