Newsroom, February 21, 2026: Four members of the Indian Youth Congress staged a brief shirtless protest inside Bharat Mandapam during the India AI Impact Summit on February 20.

They held T-shirts displaying slogans against the government, including references to the India-US trade deal and claims about the Prime Minister being compromised.

Delhi Police arrested Krishna Hari (national secretary from Bihar), Kundan Yadav (Bihar state secretary), Ajay Kumar (Uttar Pradesh state president), and Narasimha Yadav (from Telangana).

Authorities alleged the group raised anti-national slogans, showed objectionable images, and caused injuries to three officers during the disruption.

Police described the act as inspired by Nepal's recent Gen-Z protests and part of a broader conspiracy to damage India's international image at a high-profile global event attended by tech leaders.

A Delhi court granted the five-day remand for interrogation, including to probe funding and identify others involved. The IYC defended the action as a legitimate expression against perceived national compromises.
