Amaravati, February 21, 2026: Deputy Speaker Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju praised Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav for his thorough and clear responses during Question Hour in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
The commendation came as the minister detailed upgrades at the Government General Hospital in Anantapur. Originally planned for 560 beds, it now handles 1,348 beds, including 143 ICU beds.
Construction continues on the Mother and Child Health block, while a 50-bed Critical Care Block under the PM-ABHIM scheme will finish in three months. The minister also noted cleared dues for medicines and the rollout of a Facial Recognition System to strengthen hospital monitoring.
