Amaravati, February 21, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state will achieve 100% door-to-door garbage collection in rural areas by March, building on strong progress under the Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra initiative.

The target forms a key part of the government's push for a cleaner, healthier state. Urban municipalities have already reached 97% coverage for doorstep waste pickup.

Efforts include distributing e-autos, pushcarts, and tricycles to villages, encouraging home composting among lakhs of families, and clearing massive legacy waste dumps to curb pollution and disease.

Waste is being converted into energy and resources through plants in Visakhapatnam and Guntur, with more planned.
