Amaravati, February 20, 2026: The German development bank KfW has stepped forward to support Tirupati's transformation into a climate-resilient urban centre.
Officials from the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) met with KfW representatives and partners from ICLEI South Asia on Friday to advance plans focused on preventing urban flooding, rejuvenating lakes and tanks, and integrating nature-based solutions with improved wastewater systems and water harvesting.
A detailed survey of water bodies is already in progress, followed by preparation of a concept note and project report, including hydrological studies and impact assessments.
