Guntur, February 20, 2026: Andhra Pradesh's Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu attended the oath-taking ceremony for the newly nominated market committee at Guntur Mirchi Yard, one of the state's largest agriculture market committees and Asia's premier chilli trading centre.

Kurra Appa Rao assumed the role of chairman, joined by a vice-chairman and directors. Former Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao administered the oaths, with local MLAs, the mayor, and other leaders present.

The government pledges priority development for the yard, including better infrastructure, fair pricing for farmers and traders, reduced pesticide reliance for higher-quality exports, and relief from past financial strains on growers. The minister emphasized full commitment to progress and openness to relocation proposals with proper evaluation.
