Amaravati, February 20, 2026: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha announced in the Assembly during discussions on Home Department grants that the state's crime rate has declined by 6% since the coalition government took charge.

She credited stronger law and order measures over the past months for the drop, which she said contrasts with challenges that once discouraged investors.

Crimes against women specifically decreased by 4.40%, thanks to the Shakti App and dedicated Shakti Teams that boost quick response and safety. Cybercrimes remain a concern, prompting plans for cyber police stations in every district and public awareness drives.

The minister stressed that stable law and order ranks as a top priority, fueling recent investment commitments and economic growth.
