Amaravati, February 20, 2026: Senior IPS officer N. Balasubrahmanyam formally assumed charge as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) in Vijayawada today.

A 1994-batch officer previously serving as DGP (Organisation), he steps in after the role was held in additional charge by Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu following earlier transitions.

Upon taking office, Balasubrahmanyam stressed key priorities: enhancing passenger safety, ensuring punctual services, maintaining cleanliness, and boosting overall quality.

He called for stronger public transport systems, including faster rollout of electric buses to improve efficiency and achieve long-term financial stability. He urged all staff and officers to embrace discipline, dedication, and teamwork.
