Amaravati, February 20, 2026: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar told the Legislative Assembly that the state government targets 160 GW of renewable generation through the Integrated Clean Energy Policy.

This ambitious push emphasises long-term sustainability and consumer protection amid India's broader green transition.

The state already leads with 21,457 MW total installed capacity, 37% from renewables. Recent reforms under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stabilised power systems, cut purchase costs, and reduced tariffs via innovative mechanisms.

A 2,000 MW battery storage system approval promises low-cost supply.
