Amaravati, February 19, 2026: Opposition YSRCP members disrupted the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council session today, forcing its adjournment until Thursday over demands for a debate on ghee supplies to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) via Indapur Dairy.
The controversy centres on allegations that ghee supplied to TTD, used in preparing laddu prasadam, came at inflated prices through Indapur Dairy, with claimed links to Heritage Foods.
The YSRCP pushed for a discussion on procurement practices, pricing hikes, and potential irregularities, including past SIT findings of adulteration, where some ghee was found to bea synthetic mix rather than pure.
The ruling side rejected the motion, with Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha noting SIT confirmation of adulteration in prior supplies and readiness to debate with evidence, while criticizing disruptions as time-wasting.
