Vizag, February 19, 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Exercise MILAN 2026 at Visakhapatnam on Thursday, marking India's largest-ever hosting of the event with delegations from 74 nations.
He stressed that no navy can face modern challenges alone from piracy and maritime terrorism to cyber risks, illegal fishing, underwater resource disputes, and climate-driven disasters.
Singh highlighted the need for stronger global frameworks beyond UNCLOS, including better information sharing and coordinated action to ensure safe seas and prosperity.
