Amaravati, February 19, 2026: Coconut farmers in Andhra Pradesh's Godavari districts will receive financial support of Rs 32,500 per hectare through the Replanting & Rejuvenation (R&R) scheme run by the Coconut Development Board.

The aid addresses severe losses from poor drainage, flooding, salinity rise, and land issues that have hit nearly one lakh trees and thousands of acres, especially in mandals like Malikipuram and Mamidikuduru.

Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu highlighted the drainage failures and crop harm, noting past delays in fixes. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan led assessment visits with experts.

Beyond the per-hectare grant, proposals include Rs 1,000 per tree compensation (pending approval) and infrastructure like drain modernisation (Rs 20.77 crore sanctioned) plus surveys for permanent solutions (Rs 17 crore allocated).
