Amaravati, February 18, 2026: YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu walked free from Rajahmundry Central Prison on Wednesday evening after a Guntur court granted him bail.

He had served a 17-day remand following his January 31 arrest over alleged verbal abuse of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and obstructing police during a Guntur protest.

The release ends a brief but intense stint that highlighted ongoing tensions between YSRCP and the ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

Upon stepping out, Rambabu accused the chief minister and his son of orchestrating an attack on his Guntur home and family on the arrest day, claiming police stood by as spectators.

He vowed to keep questioning government policies without fear, describing jail as a place that strengthened his resolve rather than breaking it. No major complaints arose about prison conditions.
