Newsroom, February 18, 2026: Galgotias University, based in Greater Noida, faced swift removal from the expo at Bharat Mandapam during the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The controversy stemmed from a viral demonstration of a robotic dog identified as the commercially available Unitree Go2 model from China presented in a way that suggested it was developed by the university's Centre of Excellence.

Government sources and IT Secretary S. Krishnan confirmed the decision, stressing the need to prevent inauthentic displays from undermining the event's focus on real advancements.

The university issued a statement clarifying it never claimed to have built the device, describing it instead as a tool for student experimentation and skill-building with global technologies.
