Amaravati, February 17, 2026: Four daily wagers from Chittoor's Ramnagar area, all in their 20s and known as Jana Sena Party sympathisers, travelled to Puducherry on motorbikes over the Maha Shivaratri holiday weekend.
They spent time at the beach until late Monday. Ignoring warnings from locals, they ventured deep into the water near dusk. Strong waves swept away Jaswanth and Sadiq, while marine police rescued Nawaz and Jayanth.
After a one-hour search, authorities recovered the bodies and shifted them to a local hospital for postmortem. Arrangements are underway to transport the remains back to Chittoor.
