Amaravati, February 18, 2026: Proceedings in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Council faced a one-hour delay yesterday due to a technical software glitch that disabled all microphones in both Houses.

The issue forced brief adjournments in Vijayawada, where the state legislature currently operates. Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu described the problem as purely technical and urged members against politicising it, while confirming a quorum was present.

Officials quickly provided cordless microphones in the Assembly to resume discussions, allowing normal operations to continue after the fix.

The Council experienced a similar hour-long holdup. This minor disruption comes amid the ongoing budget session, highlighting the reliance on digital systems in legislative work. As sessions intensify on key fiscal matters, smoother tech infrastructure could prevent future interruptions and support efficient governance in the state.
