Andhra Pradesh has established a Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC) in Mangalagiri to boost rapid response to disease outbreaks and crises.

Amaravati, February 17, 2026: Andhra Pradesh has established a Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC) in Mangalagiri to strengthen coordinated medical responses during crises.

Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav announced the new command centre, set up at a cost of Rs 5 crore under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.

Located on the third floor of the State Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation headquarters, the facility integrates data from health, disaster management, police, fire services, and weather alerts.

It operates on Watch, Response, and Alert principles to handle outbreaks, natural disasters, food poisoning, and events like pandemics. An agreement was signed in January 2025 with central authorities, and the centre one of 15 in the first phase across states will soon be inaugurated.
