Amaravati, February 17, 2026: A Special POCSO Court in Ongole sentenced a 46-year-old man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6,000 for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in Bapatla district.

The accused, Nallagorla Srinivasa Rao from Swarna village under Karamchedu police limits, lured the child with biscuits and chocolates while she played alone near her home on September 29, 2020.

The conviction rested on witness statements, material evidence, and a thorough police investigation that began with a case under the POCSO Act. Authorities emphasized zero tolerance for crimes against children.
