Amaravati, February 18, 2026: Artificial intelligence can revolutionise healthcare by improving disease tracking, faster diagnoses, better treatments, and wider access to care, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel said.

Speaking as chief guest at the second convocation of AIIMS Mangalagiri in Guntur district, she described AI as a strong enabler that supports doctors rather than replaces them. When guided by public good, she added, it expands reach, boosts efficiency, and saves lives.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources N. Lokesh, who attended as guest of honour, noted the institute's rapid progress since 2015.

It now runs nearly 650 beds, serves over 1,300 students, and offers advanced care including open-heart surgeries, kidney transplants, robotic procedures, and oncology services.
