Amaravati, February 16: Devotees poured into the historic Srikalahasteeswara Temple in Tirupati district from the early hours of Sunday for Mahashivaratri, creating long queues and a charged spiritual atmosphere.
Around two lakh people had darshan of Lord Sri Kalahasteeswara and Goddess Gnana Prasunambika, with chants of "Hara Hara Mahadeva" and "Om Namah Shivaya" echoing through the decorated premises adorned with fruits and flowers.
Special arrangements included free buses by APSRTC, quick darshan queues, and refreshments like water, milk, and biscuits. Police deployed over 1,150 personnel, drones, and CCTV for smooth crowd management and security.
