Amaravati, February 16: Bill Gates, founder-chairman of the Gates Foundation, landed at Gannavaram Airport this morning and was welcomed by IT Minister Nara Lokesh, along with other state ministers, including Home, Agriculture, and Health.
Dense fog delayed the landing briefly, but Gates proceeded to the state secretariat in Amaravati.
He held key meetings with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Lokesh. Discussions focused on broadening existing Gates Foundation health projects already active in Kuppam, Chittoor district to cover more of the state.
Topics included AI in governance, farming, medical technology, diagnostic services, and the Sanjeevani digital health records system. Naidu presented the Real Time Governance System (RTGS) and his Swarna Andhra 2047 vision for reforms. Gates later visited an agricultural site in Undavalli to see drone and AI use in farming.
